EDCA Under 17 & Under 19

‍About Eastern Districts Cricket Association (EDCA)

For representative honours, the Auckland Cricket Association divides the greater Auckland area into six Districts/ Regional associations, of which EDCA is one. The other regions are; Manukau, Central, Eastern, Western, Tuaraki, and Waitemata, representing 16 Auckland Cricket Clubs

The Eastern District Cricket Association (EDCA) is an association between 3 Auckland Cricket Clubs – Auckland University Cricket Club, Grafton United Cricket Club, and Parnell Cricket Club

The aim of EDCA is to promote cricket in the region, develop district and regional level players, compete strongly at Auckland District tournaments, and have a united voice at Auckland Cricket

Nomination, Selection and Playing for EDCA U17& U19 Teams

Eligibility for selection:

·        Players must be U17 on 1 September for U17 selection

·        Players must be U19 on 1 September for U19 selection

·        Players must be Year 9 or above to be eligible for selection

Process for nomination and registration:

·       Your PCC Coaches nominate you as a PCC player

·       Once nominations are accepted, we will advise our PCC players that they’ve been nominated and to look out for registration details

·       All players nominated from across the 3 clubs then receive an invitation to register

Selection criteria & Trial process:

·        How the teams will be selected will depend on the number of players available. This will be communicated once EDCA have an idea of player availability

What if I’m not selected?

·        With strong numbers across PCC, AUCC and Grafton, selection is competitive

·       Our coaches will seek feedback from the selectors on any players who are not selected this year and talk our PCC players through that feedback so throughout the season we can support you to develop your game and work on specific development areas

Selection across the EDCA U17 & U19 teams:

·       Players eligible for the EDCA U17 and U19 EDCA teams will be eligible for Auckland U17 and U19 selection and ultimately NZ U19 selection.

Playing Kit:

·      Players will be issued with Green EDCA playing tops and Caps. Players will need to wear their own Black pants

Fees:

·        EDCA fees are set each year and will be communicated on registration. If the programme includes a Winter Academy, players will be advised

Auckland Cricket Districts Tournament

Auckland Cricket’s U17 & U19 Girls District Tournament dates and venue are yet to be confirmed.
